project Fire Buddies


Project Fire Buddies

is a nonprofit organization founded in 2016 by firefighters in Oak Forest, Illinois.

Their mission is to bring joy, hope, and support to children battling critical illnesses and their families.

Firefighters, known as "Fire Buddies," visit these children at home, often arriving in fire trucks with lights and sirens, bringing gifts, participating in celebrations, and offering companionship.

The organization has grown significantly, with over 120 chapters across ten states, impacting more than 700 children and involving over 825 volunteers.


Through these heartfelt interactions, Project Fire Buddies aims to ensure that no child fights their illness alone, providing moments of joy and creating lasting memories for families during challenging times.
